First Meeting September 9th!

Our first meeting of the year will be September 9th at the Mohave Museum. We are having a "Meet and Greet" with refreshments at 6:00 and the meeting will start at 6:30. Deborah Spots is scheduled to speak, and Holly and Dennis Schroeder will talk about their current Museum photo show.

Eligibility Categories:
Young Adult: 14 – 18 years old.
Novice: Up to three years experience.
Intermediate 1: 3 – 7 years experience
Intermediate 2: 8 – 12 years experience
Advanced/ Professional: 12+ years experience; art and photography teachers.

NO KITS, PATTERNS OR COMPUTER-GENERATED WORK. FINE ART & PHOTOS MUST BE ENTRANT’S ORIGINAL WORK

SIZE & PRESENTATION:
Max size for any entry is 36” X 36” including
Frame. Each piece must be framed &
Appropriately presented for its medium, with
Screw eyes/D-rings & wire for hanging.
NO bracket hangers.
We can’t accept any piece NOT ready to hang!









ENTRY: Two entries per class, per medium. Up to a total of six entries will be accepted from each entrant. No late entries will be accepted. All forms must be postmarked by Sept 5th, 2008. Each item must be named on entry form.

Fees per item: YA: $3.00
Working Members: $5.00
Non-working Members: $8.00
All Others: $10.00

Receiving & Pickup: All entries to be hand delivered & picked up during times shown.

Sales & Commissions: All sales to be handles by AGEA representatives only. 20% of sales price listed on entry form will be retained on all sales (10% for YA) as a commission to AGEA. For example, a price listed at $300. will result in payment to entrant of $240. and $60. for AGEA.
Works not for sale must be clearly indicated “NFS” on the entry form.

AGEA will exercise all possible precautions to prevent loss or damages, however the artist will assume all risks.

**All entries must be clearly labeled
on the back when delivered.




Awa NOTE: This is a family oriented show. AGEA reserves the right to refuse any work deemed inappropriate
for family viewing i.e. no nudity, sensuality, or graphic violence.

AWARDS: Judges will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places and honorable mention in each class. One Best of Show will also also be awarded for each medium: Photography, Oil, Water Media, Drawing, and Sculpture/three-dimensional art.

The decision of the judges is final.



Artist and Photographer Categories:

Young Adult: 14 – 18 years old.
Novice: Up to three years experience
Intermediate 1: 3 – 7 years experience
Intermediate 2: 8 – 12 years experience
Advanced/ Professional: 12+ years experience; art and photography teachers.

Mediums:
Oil – oil, water-soluble oil,
Acrylic
Watercolor, gouache,
Drawing – any type of pencil, charcoal, pastel, or ink drawn onto paper and not painted.
Mixed Media/ other
Sculpture – all three dimensional art mediums including metal, wood, fiber, clay, paper-mache, etc.
Photography –
Color, or Monochromatic which includes black and white, sepia etc.

**AGEA reserves the right to combine or expand categories as entries dictate.**

Art and Photography Subject Classes:

Scenic – landscape, seascape. May include people, animals or buildings as part of scene, but the scene is paramount.
Animals – domestic, wildlife as main subject
People – as main subject, including portrait
Floral – plants, flowers as main subject
Historical – scenes depicting an event, object, place or person of historical interest.
Still life – inanimate objects as subject
Structural – building or portion of building as main subject; bridges etc with architectural emphasis.
Artist’s choice – any subject not fitting into above classes including contemporary, fantasy, abstract, surrealism etc.
